OUR ORIGIN – THE WESTERN GHATS ADVANTAGE
Our coffee is not plantation coffee. It is forest coffee.
We source directly from the legendary coffee belt of the Western Ghats of India – a UNESCO World Heritage biodiversity hotspot. Our key sourcing regions are Madikeri (Coorg), Chikmagalur (The birthplace of coffee in India), and Sakleshpur.
These regions sit at an altitude of 900 to 1500 meters above sea level, with rich volcanic soil, 150+ cm annual rainfall, and a unique ecosystem where coffee is grown under the shade of native trees like Rosewood, Silver Oak, and Pepper vines.
This shade-grown method is our first uniqueness. Unlike sun-grown coffee from other countries which is harsh and bitter, our shade-grown coffee matures slowly, absorbing complex flavors from the forest. The result is a smooth, low-acidity, aromatic bean with natural notes of chocolate, spice, and nuts – a profile loved by specialty buyers around the world.
